Second picture of a little spin-off of my old series "Animal planet", which was about representing the solar system as fantastic animals...but since I had finished the main celestial bodies, I thought about a couple more, but this time, outside this solar system. It only lasted for three drawings, but I may revive this interesting project someday, who knows?

These are the Pleiades, The seven sisters or Messier 45

Pleiades means 'doves' in Greek. In mythology, they were nymphs that Zeus transformed into doves and then into stars.
It's a open star cluster that is made of white-blue stars and some nebulosity. It's a relatively new objet, formed approximately during the Mesozoic era.
This is one of my favorite objets in the sky, it's easy to see even from big cities. If you have a telescope or even binoculars, I recommend you to search for them and take a look ♥
